To be on this course you must be eligible for a Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) funded place. To be eligible for a TDA funded place you should also qualify for:

funding your teacher training course
  • Tuition Fee Loan
  • Maintenance Grant
  • Student Loan

Tuition Fees

The TDA are reviewing all funding arrangements for 2012-13.   As soon as the outcome of this review is known, the tuition fee for September 2012-13 will be set.

Maintenance Grant

Trainees may be eligible for a maintenance grant.  The amount you receive is based on household income.  As this is a grant and not a loan, it is not repayable.

Further Information

For further information and how to apply for student finance visit www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance

Remember:

*   Most students won’t have to pay anything up front. There are student loans to help with tuition fees and living costs.
*   Repayments are based on future earnings and not what you borrow and you only repay when you have left university and are earning more than £21,000.
•You don’t need to have accepted a place at university or college to apply for student finance. Apply online by 31 May 2012.

Accommodation

funding your teacher training courseFinding accommodation within easy reach of Holy Family School is the responsibility of the trainee. No accommodation for trainees is organised by the Primary Catholic Partnership. However, we will do all we can to point you in the direction of suitable accommodation. Southampton is a University town and as such there are a variety of agents who specialise in renting properties to students.
