Student Finance for Post Graduate Teacher Training
To be on this course you must be eligible for a TDA funded place. To be eligible for a TDA funded place you should also qualify for:
- Tuition Fee Loan
- Maintenance Grant
- TDA Bursary
- Student Loan
Tuition Fees
The tuition fee for 2010-11 is £2750.
You may apply to the Student Loan Company for a Tuition fee loan to cover all or part of your tuition fee. This fee is not paid to you but is forwarded directly to the SCITT.
Maintenance Grant
At the start of the course trainees are eligible for a statutory maintenance grant of £1260 from their local authority. This is a grant and not a loan and is therefore not repayable. A further grant is available on a means-tested basis.
TDA Bursary
During the course you will receive a training bursary of £4000. This is payable in nine monthly instalments of £444.44. You do not need to apply for this. The SCITT will pay it to you during the course, starting at the end of September.

Accommodation
Finding accommodation within easy
reach of Holy Family School is the responsibility of the trainee. No accommodation
for trainees is organised by the Primary Catholic Partnership. However,
we will do all we can to point you in the direction of suitable accommodation. Southampton
is a University town and as such there are a variety of agents who specialise
in renting properties to students.
